Their Challenge

MyNetDiary was one of the original calorie tracking apps however the market has since become very crowded with more modernized versions such as NOOM, making their debut with significant investor backing and the ability to spend significant funds on primetime advertising and top-level advertorials.

Outside of new recipes debuting, the brand didn’t have any significant new features launching and many considered their branding outdated.

Our Challenge

Over a 13-month contract period, the Dunn Pellier Media team faced the challenge of distinguishing MyNetDiary from its newer and more innovative competitors.

Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic made health-related topics difficult to leverage as news about vaccines and new variants dominated the media cycle.

Goals

Familiarize American Media Outlets and Elevate MyNetDiary

  • Explaining why MyNetDiary is a winner for people all over the world, especially during this challenging virus and the stay at home restrictions.
  • Elevating MyNetDiary and its registered dietitians’ nutritionists in the media.
  • Gaining the attention of consumers in the health, wellness and nutrition space.
  • Continuing the educational conversation around healthy lifestyle, nutrition, diets, healthy weight loss, motivation and fitness.
PR Strategy

Covid-19

The DMP team made sure that MyNetDiary was always part of the conversation when it came to pertinent app and wellness roundups as well as gifting “the gift of health” stories.

Focusing On Registered Dietitians And Exceptional Recipes

One way that the DMP team familiarized media outlets with MyNetDiary was through elevating their registered dietitian in the media to highlight tips for healthy weight loss and speak to important misconceptions and trends along with key topical issues. We also submitted unique angles and recipes for coverage opportunities, especially around seasonal happenings like Spring, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year where challenges around weight loss are often heightened.

We also cultivated pitch angles around the benefits of tracking during COVID-19 and why it’s the only sustainable way to lose/maintain weight, tips to losing those pandemic pounds and a guide to staying on track during summer road trips and travel.

Roundups And Gift Guides

The DMP team made sure that MyNetDiary was always part of the conversation when it came to pertinent app and wellness roundups as well as gifting “the gift of health” stories.
